It's official.
There will be NO APSB classes at Barastoc 2011...
I heard the rumour about this about 6 weeks or so ago, but it's now confirmed by Fran Cleland.

| I'm not fussed about that, as we have more than enough classes and shows on our current Vic show calendar to try to support, and this one was pretty expensive to go on a second day for the shetland. We will still do Barastoc, but just with the AMPS. |

I very much doubt that it means that no APSB registered ponies can enter Barastoc! I think that would amount to a restriction of somewhat large proportions! (And possibly subject to some legal discussions).
What was stated was that there will be no APSB section at Barastoc.
Barastoc is now going to take over the running of the M & M classes (which IMPO were a schamozzle).
The APSB Vic Br has not run the APSB classes at the show since EI. Barastoc show committee took over the running of the show immediately after EI as the APSB insurance would not allow us to run ANYTHING until after the 1st of March that year.
Unfortunately, I think that was when they discovered that it was quite successful, so Barastoc has run it themselves since then.
A number of incidences have occured in the last couple of years. Some people have gotten upset with some of the rulings - some people get vocal - some rulings have been correct--- and some haven't - and some people seem to think that they are playing for sheep stations.
Until you see something different written in a schedule, you should assume that ALL APSB registered ponies can enter whatever sections at Barastoc that they are eligible for. _________________ A Closed Mouth Gathers No Foot! |
