Hi,
I'm a member of mementum (miniatures) and liked thier 'Brag' section of their forum - for things like foals and showing results, though it might be good for this forum too as I noticed there are a quite a few foals and results being bragged about in various sections.

Hi Emma

Thanks for your suggestion. That is actually what the Breeding Barn & On The Ringside forums were designed for.

Plus the forum is just in addition to the main Shetland Sales site where there is an annual Foal Feature and a Gallery. Feel free to contribute to any of those as well.

What does everyone else think? Is another forum category/page needed?

Maybe just add a section for show brags...

That way people can add their results, & also a pic or 2...

I will see how it goes as the show season gets underway. In all honesty I provide a results page on Shetland Sales where you can send in details of anything from a 4th place at the Back of beyond PC gymkhana to a Royal Supreme, plus an accompanying small photo, and pretty much the only results I have to publish are the ones I chase down myself.

I also set up the Show Gallery (http://www.shetlandsales.com/gallery.html) with bigger pics - 2 pics per pony per event and all details. Again it doesnt have to be a Royal Championship just an individual placing if you like.

And then there is the On the Ringside forum where you can discuss anything relating to showing including your results, with pretty much unlimited pics that you can upload yourself. You couldn't say that brag posts will be lost as the posts on the first page date back to April 2008! And I have a huge amount of webspace so posts are never deleted.

The forum is a very quiet one so I guess I dont see where there needs to be more options when the ones provided arent fully utilised.

what a bout a colour section? that way threads could be started under a particular colour Eg Roans, Taffys

Sometimes it can be hard to work out what colour your foal is. my pally colt last year was born chestnut but by 3 months was lightening and now as a yearling he is definately pally.

Just a thought.
