Hi, Just letting you know that there are quite a few new members with adult websites. I would hate to see young users stumble across them.
Thanks Nik. _________________ Good things come in small packages |

Hi Nepony
Spammers are a huge problem when hosting a forum. I had hoped that requiring individual admin approval for new members would help, and although it has stopped spammers from posting - it doesnt stop them from being listed in the memberlist. It is a timeconsuming task to delete them individually.
However, I have spent the last several hours learning how to decipher the forum software code and have added 2 new modifications to the forum. One will allow me to delete any spammer members much more easily. The other will hopefully mean that I wont have to
I have added a Textual confirmation question to the registration page which requires new members to answer a simple question. This should prevent any spambots from registering. Fingers crossed that it works, and if anyone has any problems joining up please send me an email at admin@shetlandsales.com.
Hope you are enjoying the forum.
Cheers

Hi Nik
No problem at all. Just as a matter of interest, it would appear that the new modifications are working as intended with over 30 spammer registrations blocked since Friday night, and no unwanted registrations making it past the confirmation question
Cheers
